Attendees will better understand:
(1) the state of mental health supports in Summit and surrounding counties;
(2) relevant state and school initiatives for supporting a growing diversity of learners and their social, emotional, and learning needs;
(3) anticipated implications of recent Ohio school choice legislation for private and parochial schools; as well as
(4) the practitioner's role in supporting students, their families, and school personnel by helping to bridge the Mental Health and Learning divide
Craig "Denny" King, MSN, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Denny is a licensed Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Applewood Centers, a pediatric community mental health agency. He also serves as mental health faculty at Case Western Reserve University Frances Payne Bolton School of nursing in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.
Jacob Thomas, M.Ed., Ed.S.
Jacob is a dually licensed School Psychologist through the Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Board of Psychology serving students across public, private, and home school settings. He also serves as an adjunct faculty within multiple accredited Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling graduate training programs.
